The Chief Executive of Auchi Polytechnic has informed members of Auchi Dynamic Youths Association (ADYA) that he is more of an Auchi man than he is Hausa.
This was during a courtesy visit paid the Substantive Rector by the body on Monday at the Rectory.
Dr. Shehu Salisu Umar expressed appreciation over the warm reception he got on his return and ascension to the position of the Substantive Rector of Auchi Polytechnic and stated that having spent about 28 years of his existence in Auchi, he feels more at home with the Auchi people.
ADYA’s visit was premised on the need to establish a familiar footing with the Rector and called on him to not hold back in transforming the institution to lofty heights while appealing that opportunities be given to deserving and qualified Auchi youths when the need arises.
On his part, Dr. S.S. Umar assured the body that the Auchi community are always at heart and stated that when programmes aimed at uplifting Auchi Polytechnic arise, deserving and qualified youths shall be favourably considered.
To assure ADYA that he is with them, the Rector affirmed that he has always been in close proximity with Auchi youths because of their peculiarity of being organized. “My integration with the youths in Auchi will increase now that God has done His work in making me the Rector of Auchi.” _he said
